A Multitude of Joy
As I visited the beach in North Florida yesterday, I could not help but notice - there was a multitude of everything! Sand, waves, ripples, sandpipers, seagulls waiting for my leftover morsels of my dinner picnic, washed-up jelly fish and shells of all kinds. The crushed shells were infinite in number, color and size. What a treat it was to walk along the beach, watching the white froth being caught up by the wind and wondering what I would discover next. Gingerly picking my path with bare feet, families, couples, runners and dogs passed me all doing the same - looking at the multitudes of God's created beauty all around. As I strained as far as my eyes could see towards the horizon where the blue water met the blue sky, I could see the shrimp boats, polka-dotting the line between. Everything was in motion, and walking along quietly and thoughtfully after a hard day, I realized that God had not left out the most important ingredient for my beach walk - a multitude of joy, for as I thanked Him for the refreshment of His creation, He rewarded me quickly with His presence and His presence always, always, most definitely, brings a multitude of JOY.
